Berlin, 22nd May 2017. The draft submitted by the Berlin architectural firm CKRSArchitekten:
Clarke, Kuhn, Rozynski, Sturm has been recommended for implementation in
the mixed area MI 4.1 of the Quartier Heidestrasse.
A building complex, with six, seven, and twelve full storeys, is to be erected on the 5,987-m2
parcel. 215 rent-regulated apartments, in accordance with the Berlin model for cooperative
construction development. Along with the apartments businesses, a hotel and a child day
care centre with approx. 1,000 m2 of gross floor space for about 80 places are to be created.
Mischgebiet MI 4.1 is the southernmost sector of the Quartier Heidestrasse, and as such is

new area and leads into the heart of the Quartier, the special area with the central urban

unit as block of buildings. The load-bearing structure with support grid is borrowed from
industrial architecture; the grid-like façade, partly characterised by arcades and loggia, is
made of pre-fabricated concrete elements.  [...]
