Berlin, 12. July 2020. Another renowned retailer is moving into Quartier Heidestrasse: the drugstore chain dm will take up residence on the first floor of the QH Core building, occupying an area of around 880 sqm.

QH Core, located directly on the future Quartiersplatz, is the first building in the Quartier Heidestrasse to approach completion. At this central location in the heart of the neighborhood, the first floors will primarily feature stores for the basic needs of future residents and users.

  • Lease agreement signed for around 880 m² of space in QH Core
  • New branch of the assortment company complements the local supply offer in the building QH Core
  • In the future, QH Core will mark the central area in the Quartier Heidestrasse

Thomas Bergander, Managing Director of Quartier Heidestrasse, explains on the occasion of the signing of the contract: “We are delighted that dm will be opening a store in Quartier Heidestrasse. High-quality retailers are an important component for our lively Quartier. The things we need on a daily basis are easily accessible here. With dm, we have gained a company as a tenant that is an excellent fit for us with its popular products and customer-friendly orientation.” Jens Weigel, Division Manager Expansion at dm-drogerie markt GmbH + Co. KG: “The location in a new, centrally located piece of Berlin and the mix in the Quartier Heidestrasse convinced us that our company is ideally placed here. The concept of a mixed, smart and sustainable quarter suits dm and our claim to be modern, innovative and sustainable.”

As a residential and office location with retail and restaurants, the QH Core building forms the future heart of the Heidestrasse quarter and the northern Europacity area near Berlin’s main train station. The new building, designed by ROBERTNEUN Architekten, is characterized by its striking red brick facade. Another tenant already confirmed in the retail area of QH Core is the REWE Group.

With the Quartier Heidestrasse, a multifaceted, urban city quarter is being created on an area of around 8.5 hectares directly in the center of Berlin. All forms of modern working, living and housing are combined here: several construction phases comprise around 199,600 sqm of gross floor area (GFA) of office and commercial space, including a hotel and a daycare center, as well as around 940 rental apartments. In addition to QH Core, two other complexes out of a total of six are already under construction – QH Spring and QH Track.

In Berlin, the company is responsible for the project development of the Quartier Heidestrasse in Europacity and coordinates the entire planning process from conception to realization and marketing.
