TAURECON LEASES TO 50HERTZ IN THE HEIDESTRASSE DISTRICT: FULL OCCUPANCY FOR OFFICE SPACE FROM QH CORE

Berlin, March 31, 2020. 50Hertz Transmission GmbH has signed a contract to lease office space in the QH Core building in Quartier Heidestrasse. After its own headquarters in 2016, the company is thus already moving into its second building in the growing Europacity at Berlin’s main station. Around 8,100 square meters of office space will go to the transmission system operator, which currently employs more than 1,000 people, most of them in Berlin.

MILESTONE FOR QH CORE

The lease to 50Hertz represents another important milestone for Quartier Heidestrasse, as Managing Director Thomas Bergander explains: “We are delighted to have secured such an economically significant tenant as 50Hertz for Quartier Heidestrasse, which clearly expresses the company’s belief in the Europacity location. Furthermore, with the signing of the contract, all of QH Core’s office space is now fully leased.”

DIGITAL LOCATION IN THE HEART OF BERLIN

As a residential and office location with retail and restaurants, the building forms the future heart of the Heidestrasse quarter and the northern Europacity area near Berlin’s main train station. Designed by ROBERTNEUN Architekten, the new building is characterized by its striking red brick façade. Other tenants of QH Core already confirmed are Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft, Verband der Privaten Krankenversicherung e. V. and REWE Group.

THE QUARTIER HEIDESTRASSE IS GROWING

With the Quartier Heidestrasse, a multifaceted urban quarter is being created on an area of around 8.5 hectares directly in the center of Berlin. All forms of modern working, living and housing are combined here: several construction phases comprise around 199,600 square meters of gross floor area (GFA) of office and commercial space, including a hotel and a daycare center, as well as 944 rental apartments. In addition to QH Core, two other complexes out of a total of six are already under construction – QH Spring and QH Track.
